Week 2 of 3D Animation Production – The Pitch

 Good evening everyone,

Today (280421) we had to deliver our story pitch to our Lecturers and fellow classmates, to see which story seems fit for us to animate for our Concept Development class. And since it is over and done with, I guess I'll be much obliged to disseminate the info on what we're working on now.

My story pitch is that an astronaut crashes onto an alien planet and has to find a way back to her comrades before the flora and fauna makes a meal out of her.

Most of the animation will be in 2D, with some environments in 3D art.

In my group however, I am aiming towards helping SuQin with her own animation, in which — in summary — it is about a retired military robot making ramen in a stall for other robots, and meets a cute clumsy robot which he has developed feelings for.

Joash's story would have been cool to animate too because it would all be in 2D. His story is more suitable for a novel than a short story because the premise is too compelling to even be short. It was about a story of a teenage girl trying to take her own life while a younger part of her wants to bring her back home but fails to. Very sad, very compelling in my opinion.

Week 1 of 3D Animation Production – "JQK Studios"

Good evening,  Today marks the first week of 3D Animation Production, where i work in a team of 3 people – myself included – to pitch and produce a 1 minute animation.  The group comprises, Chua Suqin, Joash Lee, and myself. Both Suqin and I are specialised in 3D animation, and Joash is specialised in Character Animation. In this role combination, we're hoping that two people would work on designing the assets, characters, and environment and the third to be the one animating the motions.  We're called JQK Studios which is an acronym of our initials. Creative aye? and currently i'm designing the logo for our studio. We're still in the pitching phase. I can't disclose openly here just yet about what we're working on, but soon after the pitch to our mentors and esteemed classmates, we'll be able to share on what's in the works. Stay tune. – Koda

Week 7 of 3D Animation Production

Good Evening, This week's progress has shifted quite a bit as a lot of other works have gotten in our way for a brief period.  I am now tasked with texturing the models and characters while Suqin handles rigging and Joash to handle the animation tests.  That is all for now.

Webinar Time!

For my next assignment in Fundamentals for Creative Professionals, we were tasked to attend some webinars and understand the medias used in the big industries.  The webinars I attended were called " Demystifying Post-Production | Color Correction and Grading: Designing Creative Looks & Grades " and " Media Composer: Working with Color Corrections ". Demystifying Post-production | Color Correction and Grading: Designing Creative Looks & Grades  In this seminar they talked about Color Correction and Grading in the software of Cinema 4D, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Davinci Resolve 16. Overall the seminar focuses on what a lot of creative professionals will be experiencing when they get themselves into these softwares that are used by the big studios in the industry The presenter, Maximus Raharjo, went through the pipeline of his work, and demonstrated his workflow. He also went through what each function does in adding filters and manipulating the colours of scenes
